Carrier field mapping

Carriers pick up the shipping address from different places. Some read a dedicated short address field from their Shopify integration, some read address line 2, and some only see what is printed on the label. Carrier field mapping lets you choose where Keen Address writes the short address so it reaches your carrier without manual work.

Options

Open Settings, then Carrier field mapping. You can enable any combination of:

• Order metafield keen_address.short_address. Always on. Use this in packing slip templates and carrier apps that read metafields.
• Shipping address line 2. Keen Address appends the short address to the second address line, after any text the shopper entered. Most carrier integrations send this line.
• Shipping address company field. Useful for carriers that print the company line prominently on the label and ignore line 2.
• Order note. Adds a line Short address: RQRA 1234 to the order note for carriers that read notes.

Recommended setup

If you are not sure what your carrier reads, enable address line 2 and the order metafield. Ship one order and check the carrier’s label or portal. If the short address is not visible, try the company field.

Bulk apply

Changing the mapping applies to new orders only. To update open orders that already have a short address, use Bulk actions, then Re-apply carrier mapping. Fulfilled orders are never changed.
